We started "Neil Stone Updates" in January 2009 as a way to let friends and family know how Neil was faring following a car accident. Neil sustained a truamatic brain injury due to severe head trauma. In the days, weeks, and months that followed, the support we received from readers of this blog comforted and lifted us through the trials and difficulties of his healing. In January 2010 we felt it was time to make a change in the blog, and "Stone Soup" was born. Now, along with updates on Neil's progress, we've included family photos and activities. It's time to get on with life! Thanks for being a part of it!
Doug and I watched the show last night after Brett told us about it. We are so happy to see how Neil has progressed this past year. Neil and Brett were in kindergarten together and were neighbors and good friends for several years. We wish you well, Neil, in your future pursuits and want to say a special hello to the Stone family.
The show was AMAZING! You are all such a great example to others - Neil is making amazing progress. The kids loved seeing him and seeing little snippets of Eric too! We got to fast forward through the commercials though so it wasn't bad! So glad you guys were able to do this, what a treasure!
We will watch it with the kiddos tonight - we DVR'd it so we can now fast forward the commercials! MTV is an eyeful, isn't it? We loved the show last night - MTV and all. :) The stars of the show really put it all in perspective, right? None of that "commercial stuff" really matters.
Thanks for all your kind words. We were glad the show turned out okay. We didn't get to preview it, so we just weren't sure. Lynne--It's wonderful to hear from you! We miss having you as our neighbors, and Neil remembers his friendship with Brett very well. Thanks for taking the time to comment!
I just watched the True Life episode on my computer this morning, and afterwards i've been looking all day on the internet to find some type of link about Neil. I'm 23 yr old female from Wisconsin and I have a 4yr old daughter, my name is Annamarie. I just wanted to say that your story truly touched me and it really shows how one day everything can be "normal" and you can be healthy and then in the blink of an eye things change dramatically. God surely has a plan for Neil and your family. Don't give up and just take everything one day at a time! Neil, you are truly an inspiration!! -anna

That's how I watched it this morning! We don't have cable so I had to be wait. But it was commercial free so that's a plus! It was awesome!

What a great show. We loved it. Neil was the star, but Lori, you didn't do so bad either!! Your whole family is a class act.
